The company's Environmental Management Plans are designed to ensure continuous improvement in the management of environmental resources. The company trains all staff and contractors with the highest environmental standards and best practices. To ensure the company remains a leader in environmental management, monitoring programs are reviewed regularly.

Environmental stewardship includes:

  • Responsible chemical use – The company carefully manages the chemicals it uses in the operation and securely stores them in a specifically built storage. It manages chemical waste according to the hazardous waste management policy. The company's processing plant was built with a systems that protects from potential release of chemicals into the surrounding environment.

  • Responsible waste management – The company is committed to exercising responsible waste management practices through a waste management strategy and classifies the waste into two categories – recyclable and non-recyclable. The company works with a recyclable waste management company in Bayankhongor for collecting recyclable waste and collaborate with Bayankhongor waste management center for collecting of the non-recyclable waste.

  • Responsible and efficient water management – The company is committed to using water carefully, meeting its operational needs whilst using a water recycling system in the processing plant, which reuses up to 92% of the water. The company's environmental specialists regularly take water samples from the site wells and surrounding surface water and water basins and monitor the water quality. 

  • Reducing air quality emissions and dust control  – To ensure the best possible quality of air locally, the company is committed to managing dust and noise from its operations. It regularly monitors dust levels, plant grass and flowers at the camp area and installed air quality detectors in the processing plant.

  • Minimizing biodiversity impact – To manage our impact on biodiversity, the environmental specialists conduct an annual fauna, flora and wildlife study in collaboration with Green Trends, an environmental consulting firm that manage biodiversity according to an annual environmental management plan. They regularly take soil samples and monitor fauna and flora and wildlife. The company also rehabilitates the soils impacted by the operation, grow grass on the camp area and installed the septic system for waste water.
